What do our professional optometrists do in the comprehensive eye refraction exam?

Our professional optometrists do much more than determining your prescription for eyeglasses or contact lenses. They will check the complete function of your eyes that includes the checking for the common eye conditions:

Nearsightedness (myopia): Individuals see better up close than at distance.

Farsightedness (hyperopia): Individuals see better at a distance than up close.

Astigmatism: An irregular curvature of the front surface of the eye that can result in blurred vision at all distances. It is a common refractive error, just like Nearsightedness and Farsightedness.

Binocular deficiencies: The inability of the eyes to work together effectively. This includes poor eye alignment, focusing, movement and fixation.

Crossed eyes (strabismus): A vision condition in which a person cannot align both eyes simultaneously. One or both eyes may turn in, out, or down. Poor eye muscle control usually causes crossed-eyes.

Lazy eye (amblyopia): weak vision, or vision loss, in o0909ne eye that cannot be fully corrected with glasses and contact lenses. The condition usually develops in children before the age of eight and is extremely difficult to treat if not attended to early.

Keratoconus: Keratoconus is a progressive eye problem in which the normally shaped spherical cornea thins and develops a cone-like shape. Read More
